Offensive MVP
Wide receiver – Jordan Matthews
Back in the pre-season, many experts believed Mark Sanchez outplayed incumbent fortified starter Nick Foles. During that time it became evident that Sanchez’s favorite target was rookie receiver Matthews. Last week against the Panthers in Sanchez’s first start of the season, Matthews recorded his best game of the season with over a 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Expect Sanchez to continue to look in Matthew’s direction. Expect Matthews to record over a 100 yards receiving and one touchdown.
Defensive MVP
Inside Linenacker - Mychal Kendricks
The Birds will need to maintain a powerful pass rush on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers in order to contain him. Over the past few games, Connor Barwin has been absolute terror coming off the edge recording 10.5 sacks in the last six games. Rodgers is stellar at evading pass rushers coming off the edge, so pressure up the middle of the pocket is essential. Kendricks is excellent at blitzing the A-gap, and he should be able to provide the pass rush needed. Considering the Packers are weak at both guard positions, expect Kendrick to record at least two sacks.
X-Factor
Special teams
The Eagles have had one of the league’s best special teams this season. The game will be a shootout, and to keep pace with the Packers the Eagles will need help from their special teams. Expect the Eagles to score one touchdown from a phase of special teams.
Final Prediction
The Eagles should come away with a close high scoring victory. Both teams have top offenses and the game may come down to special teams, where the Birds have an edge.
