Offensive MVP
Left tackle- Jason Peters
It is not often that an offensive lineman dominates a game, however with the offensive line ravaged by injuries Peters, a former All-Pro, will have to play spectacularly for the Eagles. Expect Peters to come through with a strong performance. Peters is one of the two remaining healthy starter on the line, and he is the true anchor of the line. The makeshift offensive line has done a solid job in pass protection allowing zero sacks in the last two games, but the running game has struggled. He will be lined up across from Niner's star defensive end Justin Smith, yet expect Peters to win the matchup. In addition, expect Peters to lead the way in run-blocking and open up big holes for the running backs.
Defensive MVP
Jack linebacker- Connor Barwin
So far this season, the Eagles have not been able to provide any sort of pass rush, registering only two sacks as a team. Barwin is capable of getting to the quarterback and expect him to have two sacks. More importantly though, Niner's quarterback Colin Kaepernick has the ability to hurt defense with his legs outside of the pocket. Barwin has the speed and athleticism to keep Kaepernick contained. Expect Kaepernick to be limited in the pocket due to the play of Barwin.
X-Factor
Eagle's inside linebackers vs. Niner's tight ends
The Eagles are extremely thin at inside linebacker after losing both Travis Long in the pre-season to a torn ACL and Najee Goode in week 1 to a torn pectoral muscle, for the season . Additionally, Mychal Kendricks will miss his second consecutive game due to a calf injury. The remaining Eagle's interior linebackers will have to cover versatile tight ends Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald. If reserve linebackers Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho can keep pace with the Niners duo, then the chance for victory significantly shifts in the Eagle's direction.
Final Prediction
In the Eagles three games so far this season, they have been down by double digits and have comeback to win every week due to huge fourth quarter production. On the flip side, the Niners have been the worst team in the fourth quarter this season, being outscored 31-0 in the quarter. Therefor logic would dictate an Eagle's victory, but the Eagles o-line injuries could spell doom. Thankfully, the Niners are still without stud linebacker Navorro Bowman and Aldon Smith. All sign point to an Eagles victory, except for the fact the Niners are an extremely desperate team at 1-2. Expect the Eagles to closely win a nail biter.
